Cookies with Kian

Our little toddler Kian is 16months old and loves these easy chocolate-chip-cookies. To make them “toddler-proof” we replaced the industrial sugar with maple syrup or honey. Depending on your toddler’s taste, you could also use other sweeteners like coconut flour sugar or date syrup.

Kian doesn’t really have a sweet tooth and is not craving sugar very often. That’s why we were able to get him used to alternative sugar sources instead of traditional sugar.

If your kid is difficult to persuade to try a different sugar source, we can only recommend replacing it gradually. Adjust the ratio over time and decrease the natural sugar source step by step. Don’t try to replace it radically overnight.

Here is our list of ingredients:

  • 100g oats
  • 90g flour
  • 1,5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 100g maple syrup or any other sweetener
  • 8g vanilla sugar
  • chocolate chips to taste

Bake the cookies at 170°C for 12 minutes!

If you try it out at home, don’t forget to tag us in your Instagram posts and we will repost them!
